Josie’s Bridal Shoot

Yesterday I had a blast shooting all day with Josie & Roberto. This was more of a bridal shoot but Roberto got to make a couple of cameos in the piece. It was the PERFECT day and we got started at their beautiful home and ended up in the Museum District. We also had a fury security guard by the name of Chuy, he was really trying to steal Josie’s spotlight. Roberto snapped a couple of shots while I was shooting as you’ll see below. Josie brought a change of clothes so we could eat afterwards, I can only imagine what the people were thinking when she walked into the restaurant in a full bridal gown. Haha.

Praise

Trina & Marc had these kind words to say about their video…

Rolando!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! Our wedding video is PERFECT! It is not so much that we get to watch our ceremony and reception and enjoy seeing our family and friends and the ambiance. What makes it special is the way that you captured so many small, intimate moments in time. A smile, a breath, a glance, tiny moments that can be so easily overlooked, you captured them so that our future generations will be able to re-live and see the love that Marc and I share. It was perfect, just that simple, just that beautiful.
Trina

I’m so happy that we hired you. The video is priceless…We will enjoy it for the rest of our lives….and then pass it onto future generations and so on and so on. Thank you.
Marc

Nicole & Nathan’s Highlights

In celebration of Nicole & Nathan’s 1st Anniversary!…I’m posting their Wedding Day Highlights from their wedding a year ago today. I remember it like it was yesterday; a beautiful clear day, a bubbly couple, and their pleasant friends and family. They were one of the sweetest couples of all time and after I had produced their entire video, you could feel the love they had for each other was so genuine and refreshing. We should all be so lucky!

Praise

A kind note from Vivian & Paul…

Paul and I wanted to thank you so much for the wedding video. It was everything I imagined it could be and Paul especially found it delightful to watch. We’ve already sent copies to our parents and so far, wonderful reviews. Paul’s mother has marveled at how well done it was and my mother has watched it at least four times already. Can’t wait to see how everyone else likes it.

We really appreciate all the work you’ve put into making our wedding magical all over again. Thank you for being there for us all the way.

Sincerely,
Vivian & Paul

Destination Weddings & Video

Don’t leave home with out me! For all you planning beautiful destination weddings for ‘09, consider planning on bringing in your own video & photo talent. In the latest issue of Houston Brides (pg. 60), Jo Ann Woodward, one of Houston’s top destination wedding planners was interviewed about planning a destination wedding, “To get the most from the native flavor, Woodward suggests contracting with vendors on-site with the exception of the photographer and videographer. You can’t be too careful with whom you entrust images of a lifetime, she warns, so arrange to bring your own.”

Wow, I couldn’t have said it better myself. This has always been my belief whenever I hear somebody say how they love my work and all “but…, it’s going to be in (fill in exotic city/country)”, as if I won’t go, hey, my bags are packed! But seriously, it had always seemed commonsense to me that in a lot of all-inclusive destination packages, they just put some random photo/video people together and give you something that your uncle probably could have done for free.

True Story: I did a montage a couple of years ago with some professional photographs from my clients’ destination wedding. Although they did receive a video from the resort they were not very pleased at all, they were “embarrassed by it” and “didn’t want to show it to anybody.” Yikes.

Bottom line, if your pictures and videos are important to you, don’t settle for what’s just there.

The Survivor Foundation and the Knowles Family Give Hope to Couple Affected by Hurricane Ike by Donating House of Dereon Media Center and Securing Services for Their Wedding

HOUSTON, Oct 09, 2008 (BUSINESS WIRE) — The Survivor Foundation, a not-for-profit organization founded by Beyonce, Tina and Mathew Knowles, Kelly Rowland and Solange Knowles, has stepped in to assist a couple devastated by the effects of Hurricane Ike. Two wedding facilities in the Houston area went bankrupt after the Hurricane Ike and left thousands of brides and grooms with nowhere to have their wedding. Due to the collapse of the Tuscan Villa venue, the couple, Nathan Rhodes and Ronda Lotter, were faced with having to cancel their wedding and the loss of thousands of dollars from deposits. The Survivor Foundation has donated the House of Dereon Media Center for Ronda and Nathan’s wedding and reception, which will be the first wedding ever held there.

“The Survivor Foundation was created to help individuals rise above devastating circumstances and natural disasters such as Hurricane Ike. When we saw this story we knew we could help this couple in their moment of crisis to still have their dream wedding,” said Tina Knowles, President and Director of the Survivor Foundation. Over the past few years, the Survivor Foundation has donated over two and a half million dollars just in the Houston area alone. Initiatives with The Knowles-Rowland Center, Temenos Place Apartments, St. John’s Church, Houston Habitat for Humanity, the Beyonce World Tour Food Drives, Music World Cares, and Katrina Relief are just a few of the community efforts of the foundation with Beyonce being the major contributor.

Ronda and Nathan met October 6, 2005, at a karaoke event. Nathan was so smitten with Ronda he tried to impress her by singing “Piano Man” and it must have worked because they have been together ever since, and despite the setback from Hurricane Ike, with the help of a lot of caring and generous supporters, they are able to go forward with their dream wedding on October 10, 2008 at the House of Dereon!
